Shop now: Illamasqua Mascara in Raven for £18 from Debenhams
Our Halloween Beetlejuice look is all about bold eyes. We’ve gone for deep purple smokey eye using Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Livid. Using a soft fluffy brush dust shadow to the inner and outer corners of the eye, along the crease and circle around under the lower lashes. Blend in carefully. Next up we used Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Obsidian, a dark grey black shade. Work this along your lash line to add depth and dimension. Layer with a black gel liner and buff out to soften the line. Finish with lashings of jet black mascara. We used Illamasqua Mascara in Raven. If you want to amp up your eyes add some thick falsies for a doe-eyed look.
Step 3: The Beetlejuice Skin
Shop now: Illamasqua Skin Base for 03 for £35 from Selfridges
Go for a pale foundation or face paint that’s a lot lighter than your natural skin-tone. Here we used Illamasqua Skin Base in shade 03. Wash all over your face using a large buffing brush including coating the lips. Finish with a highly pigmented white blush to brighten the skin. We used Illamasqua Blusher in Intrique.
Step 4: The Beetlejuice Stripes
Shop now: Illamasqua Blusher In Intrique for £23 from Net-A-Porter
To create the iconic Beetlejuice stripes start by bringing the pale foundation down your neck in 3 equal panels. Don’t worry about keeping these straight as next up you’ll use a gel eyeliner to create contrasting black lines and you can tidy up any wobbly parts then. This looks most effective if the black and white panels highly contrast so don’t be afraid to layer up the liner for a deep, dark black.
Step 5: The Beetlejuice Lips
Shop now: Illamasqua Lipstick in Posture for £20 from Look Fantastic
The Beetlejuice lips are slightly cracked looking and ghoulish. Opt for a deep matte purple tone, like Illamasqua lipstick in Posture. Make an ‘O’ shape with your mouth and brush over to the natural wrinkles to create an uneven, textured colour. Extend past the natural line of the lips so there is a shadow of purple surrounding the whole mouth area.
Step 6: The Beetlejuice Finishing Touches
Shop now: Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Fledgling for £17 from Look Fantastic
Shop now: Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Heroine for £17 from Beauty Bay
To create a ghoulish finish we used two green eyeshadows from Illamasqua in shades Fledgling and Pivot to create a mouldy trail that runs like a vine over the face and neck. If you feel like vamping up your Beetlejuice look a bit use Illamasqua Eyeshadow in Heroine to add a subtle contour under the chin and cheekbones. To complete the look flip a bright green bobbed wig inside out for a wild and slightly crazed looking head of hair.
